Now is the time to start squeezing.

The credit crunch, despite how complicated the government try to make it, is really very simple. People with houses were borrowing money that they couldn't afford to pay back in the hope that house prices kept rising so that they could borrow more to pay back what they already owed. When houses prices stopped rising, as anybody with any common sense knew they would, these people got in trouble. Because they cannot borrow anymore money they can't pay their debts. It is as simple as that.

So now they have to find a way to pay off what they owe which is good news for anybody renting property. Buy to let landlords cannot afford to have their properties empty. They need the income or they will not only lose their rental properties but possibly their own home as well. So rental prices are dropping far more quickly than house prices. Anybody with empty property to rent is dropping their rent just to get a tennant in there and get some money coming in. In the Richmond area rent has fallen by almost 20% already and is certain to fall even further.

So if you live in privately rented accommodation you have these people by the balls and it is now time to start squeezing. Write to your landlord and give him or her a choice. Either they lower the rent or you will go elsewhere. At the moment they have no choice. They know that if you go there is not a lot of chance of them renting out the property and even if they do they will not get anywhere near what you are paying. So if you don't get greedy and ask for a sensible reduction, along the lines of what rental prices have fallen in your area, then you will get it.

And don't feel guilty about it! They have spent the past few years driving new cars, enjoying foreign holidays and living the high life at your expense. Now it's your turn to save money and enjoy a better standard of living.

And now some good news!

After you are just getting over the shock of me admitting I was wrong here is another shock. I have some good news for a change! Yes house prices are continuing to fall, 10% in the last year, and it looks like they will fall even further!

This means that the greedy bastards who bought houses purely to let them back to people who can't afford to are now really starting to suffer as they deserve to. They bought these houses, with the potential profit from the house they already owned, and rented them out at exorbitant rents, taking money out of the pockets of those who can least afford it just so they could drive fancy cars and take expensive holidays.

And now they can't afford to pay back the money they borrowed and risk losing all of their properties. And they thoroughly deserve to.

Most of these people obtained their first house by exercising their right to buy and snapping up a cheap council house. This scheme was designed to let people own their own home and not for greedy selfish bastards to live the good life at the expense of people who didn't have the opportunity or money to buy a dirt cheap council house.

Lets hope that prices fall another 10% and these people find themselves having to pay exhorbitant rents themselves!

What planet is Gormless Gordon on?

As you are probably aware Britain is in the middle of what the newspapers call a cretit crunch and what I call a greed crunch. Whatever you decide to call it the reason for it is very simple. For the past few years house prices have been rising and people have been buying up houses purely to let them out at extortionate rates to those not able to buy their own houses.

They have used the money they have extorted from their tenants, and money they have borrowed on the strength of the future values of their properties, to live beyond their means, take fancy holidays and buy expensive cars. This created a false economic boom that has now collapsed and these people are now crying because they can't afford to pay back the money they have borrowed.

While these greedy bastards have been living the high life their unfortunate tenants have got poorer by the year, along with anybody else who doesn't own their own property.

But instead of leaving them to it, letting them sell their houses at a loss, letting the price of houses drop down to a sensible level, the unelected dick head in charge, gormless Gordon, has decided to help them out and temporarily suspended stamp duty. Why? These people are getting what they deserve for their greed and selfishness. How about helping the victims of their greed instead?

If house prices fall through the floor then more people will be able to afford to buy them, genuine people who want to actually live in them rather than condemn others to a life of poverty. Rents will fall, the tenants will have more money to spend and we will have a genuine economic recovery rather than another false one.

But that is far too simple for somebody as stupid as Brown to grasp. he would rather bail out the rich and then tax the poor at a later date to get the money back. This man is scum pure and simple and the sooner he goes the better.
